About me.

I’m Cruz Foster, a tattoo artist based in San Antonio, Texas. For the past 17 years, I’ve dedicated my life to creating art that people carry with them forever. Whether it’s Neo Traditional, Black and Gray, Blackwork, fine script, or portraiture, my goal has always been the same to create something meaningful that outlives the moment it was made.

Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. In fifth grade, one of my teachers recognized something in my drawings and referred me to the Edgewood Fine Arts Academy. That opportunity eventually led me to SAY Sí, a nonprofit arts program in downtown San Antonio, where I spent the next six years learning everything from drawing and painting to sculpture, design, and creative thinking. It became the foundation of who I am as an artist today.

None of it would have been possible without my dad. Even when being an artist wasn’t the safest path, he never questioned it. He encouraged me to keep creating, kept me inspired, and believed in me long before I believed in myself.

After graduating, I returned to SAY Sí as an art mentor. Teaching young artists reminded me that creativity isn’t just something you practice, it’s something you pass on. Watching others discover their own artistic voice became just as rewarding as creating my own work.

Tattooing found me unexpectedly. At first, I had all the same misconceptions many people do. I thought tattoos were limited to a certain lifestyle or a certain kind of person. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Once I stepped into the industry, I realized people weren’t just asking for crosses, rosaries, or traditional imagery. They wanted my custom artwork. More importantly, they trusted me to Tattoo it. That realization changed everything.

Tattooing became more than a career it became a lifelong pursuit of craftsmanship. Every tattoo taught me something. Every painting pushed me further. Every failed design, every redraw, every late night spent chasing a better idea shaped the artist I’ve become.

Today, you’ll find me tattooing at Crooked Crow Tattoo in San Antonio, Texas, where I continue creating custom tattoos for clients from all over. When I’m not in the studio, I’m sharing my process, artwork, and behind-the-scenes journey online.

You can follow my work on YouTube at Cruz Foster Tattoos, and find me on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and X (formerly Twitter) under Cruz Foster Tattoos.

Whether you’re here for a tattoo, a painting, or a piece of Oblivion apparel, thank you for being part of the journey.
